Here are some pictures showing the questionable wiring and other things:Ĭan anyone offer some advice and/or pictures of a correct setup? All of the variables here make this a very frustrating problem i.e., there are regulators with 5-blade or 6-blade connectors (and they will both physically plug into the same mating connector) there are regulators intended for 40-amp and 55-amp alternators then there are of course 40-amp and 55-amp alternators and there are LEF and FEN plug configurations. I have ordered a new Nippondenso regulator which corresponds to the same Toyota part numbers that the VR756 does but I'm concerned about the wiring and I am also concerned about not knowing for sure exactly which alternator I have, and exactly which regulator I need. This is for the 55 amp alternator (I don't know if my alternator is 55 amp or not, but apparently the mechanic thought so) and has a 5-blade connector. The regulator he used was an Autozone VR756, which corresponds to the Toyota part numbers 27700-3810-38113. I was told by the mechanic that the alternator's 3-pronged plug is LEF rather than the more common FEN. If I disconnect the regulator, the engine's idle speed increases and the voltage drops to a little over 12 volts. ![]() The voltage is way too high (about 16.5 volts) which makes the battery overcharge/bubble/leak. A mechanic replaced the alternator and regulator in my truck, and within a few weeks I was having issues. ![]()

While others can closely copy the same brilliance effect of a diamond (Moissanite), others don’t get much. One of the reasons diamonds are popular and expensive is how light affects diamonds. For a playroom, you might want multicolored LEDs while a greenhouse may need an LED grow light. Bedroom lights might be dimmer to create a soothing mood while kitchen lights can be brighter to ensure you don’t mix up your spices. On the other hand, a desk lamp in a lab may need to be extra-bright so you can assess specimens.īut the same desk – if it’s being used by kids reading – may need to be gentler to avoid causing eye fatigue. But a camping flashlight needs a long beam so you can navigate farther distances in the dark. Especially if it’s just for checking dark stores or circuit boxes. What are you using this bulb for, and what part of the house or office does it sit in? A flashlight bulb doesn’t need to be strong. Step 2: Account for function and location Temperature = Warmth or coolness of the light color (measured in degrees kelvin).Lumens = Amount of light you can actually see (brightness).Watts = Amount of electricity used per second (power usage).Volts = Amount of electricity available (power supply). So – for example – a wax candle has lumens, but it has no watts or volts because it doesn’t use electricity. Lumens describe the volume of visible light you can see. Watts are the amount of electricity any device uses up in a second. Voltage is the amount of electricity that passes through your circuits at any given time. It helps to be aware of the differences in measurement. If you’re shopping in person, you can carry the old bulb to the hardware store as a reference point. They might have other information as well, like where the bulb was manufactured or what its batch number is. Many bulbs will have the wattage and voltage indicated on the glass. This reduces the chances of someone cutting themselves on the old glass bulb as they handle your household trash.īut before you discard your old light bulb, study it to see if there are any markings on it. The more litter-conscious among us might put the old bulb into the new box before throwing them both away. Most of us throw them away as soon as we get home from the store. How to Choose the Right LED Replacement Bulb Step 1: Check your old bulb Let’s go through the steps involved when you’re shopping for light fixtures. Before you get completely lost, we need to go over the two basic terms that we’re discussing here. At that point, it was all about wattage and voltage.īut then in 1962, LEDs were invented, and now that we’re firmly in the 2020s, the focus is on lumens. Yet, when I opened Photoshop, it was there as a plugin. When installing, I didn’t see any offer to add DeNoise AI as an Adobe plugin as many installers do. I tried DeNoise AI as a standalone app and inside Photoshop as a plugin. But it’s also quick and easy to make changes and see the results. You can see the before and after noise reduction and the preservation of details.Įvery photo is different, and your adjustments will vary from image to image. Here’s an extreme enlargement of part of a photo taken just after sunset. Having said that, I never had to push those sliders very hard, because using the split screen feature and looking at the image at 400 percent magnification, I could easily find a setting where image grain (noise) was made invisible and I was not losing detail. I can report that if you use the sliders in DeNoise AI aggressively, you’re going to lose some detail, add some halos, or increase sharpness to the degree that you may see some micro-image breakup. (It may be hard to see the improvement in these samples because I’m limited to small compressed files for uploading, but you can download large samples at the Topaz site.) You can see below how the sky is cleaned up in this enlargement without doing damage to the stars. Looking at those images, again, I found DeNoise AI significantly reduced the noise with no visible degradation of detail. I also do a lot of night photography, capturing the Milky Way, and I also do some telescope-based imaging. Camera sensors are getting better and better, but there was not a single image I fed DeNoise AI that was not improved, even when inspecting the image at high magnifications. Working in reduced light and at high ISOs are an invitation to noise. Most of my imaging is in low light, as I do almost all my landscape work around sunrise and sunset. With some detailed testing, I can say that Topaz DeNoise AI works better than any similar software I’ve ever tried. Its claim to fame is Topaz inspected thousands of noisy images and added AI smarts to help this new app/plugin know the difference between noise and actual data in an image. ![]() Over the years, I used the Topaz DeNoise plugin with fair to good results, and now, it’s been updated to Topaz DeNoise AI. Preserve the details and the noise reduction is not effective. Increase the noise reduction and details suffer. They all work to some degree, but you wind up trading noise reduction for details, and I’ve never found a noise reduction aid that didn’t have some rather large trade-offs. I’ve used external apps, Photoshop/Lightroom plugins, and I’ve used the noise reductions controls built into Photoshop and Lightroom. I’ve owned lots of image de-noisers over the years. ![]() ![]() ![]() Please e-mail us if you require a PO Box only or other shipping requirements.
